Local flavours

Fine food is of course an integral part of the Toulousain lifestyle !

In Toulouse, good food is an important part of our lifestyle. Eating well is of the utmost importance! Cassoulet, foie gras, cepes, goose or duck confit, duck fillet... dishes are created around traditional products that are sourced from all over the region.

On the menu: rustic Pyrenean gastronomy with the taste of charcuterie and game, Quercy and the black gold of its truffles, le Rouergue with its hams, tripe, and sheep offal, and Gascony with all the glory of goose and duck.

The rich and varied gourmet face of the region offers many other enticing attractions: country honey and jams, goats cheeses, local patisseries and confectionary, such as the ‘bonbon de la violette’ or the ‘brique de Toulouse’ as well as, of course, the great wines of the South-West (Fronton, Cahors, Gaillac, Madiran, etc.) and Armagnac, the elixir of Artagnan.

La saucisse de Toulouse
The saucisse de Toulouse was given its own label in 1992 as a guarantee of quality to the customer. It is produced to a very precise technical specification.

Le cassoulet
The sausage is also part of the famous Toulousain cassoulet, which disputes the parentage of the recipe with Villefranche- de-Lauragais. Taste both – that of Toulouse is eaten slightly browned on top.

Wine

Le Domaine de Candie
The City of Toulouse produces its own wine !
It is the owner of a vine at the domain of Candie : red and white wines are produced there, some of which are aged in oak casks.
